Lawyers Ask Government to Withdraw Land Bill


The Uganda law society has called for the halting of the Amuru land to give way for sugar cane growing because it contradicts the law.
The umbrella body of lawyers in the country says it is illegal for the state to intervene in matters of customary land saying it should be resolved customary.
The president of Uganda law society and his delegation visited Justice Catherine Bamugemeriere land inquiry commission asking the probe team to look into the matter.
