Telecom Companies in Panic as Government Sticks to 31 August Simcard Verification Deadline

The government of Uganda has vowed not rescind its deadline of 31 August that will see unregistered simcards switched off.
Cabinet security minister general Henry Tumukunde made the revelation while appearing before parliamentary committee on ICT- revealing that four million Ugandans remain unregistered up to today.
