Speaker ‘Overwhelmed’ By Petitions? #AgeLimit

In so far the shortest span of time, five private members bills were presented to the speaker of parliament, the most controversial being Raphael Magyezi’s motion to lift the presidential age limit.
One is seeking to grant President Yoweri Museveni immunity against prosecution on leaving power, another seeking a constitutional review and one seeking to eliminate the academic qualification prerequisite for Members of Parliament.
What does this tell us about the current situation? Are the different petitions meant to derail parliament or actually to stop it from discussing the motions? Irene Namajja reports;
