Gov’t to Put Up Fish Ponds for People around Wetlands, A Move Intended To Create Jobs

Government of Uganda through the Ministry of relief and disaster preparedness is set to start the construction of fish ponds and fish cages for people living around water bodies. The intention is to curb environmental degradation; create jobs for the unemployed youths and boost food production. According to the state minister Musa Ecweru the project will be rolled out in the famine stricken Teso sub region and then to other parts of the country.
