Uganda Prisons in Crisis as a Result of Judicial strike

The Uganda prison Service is seeking for a supplementary budget to cater for the unexpected expenditures incurred during the period the judicial officers were on strike The Prisons Spokesperson Frank Baine says there was no formal communication about the closure of courts which caused them to continue ferrying prisoners on the days they were meant to appear for the sessions. The prisons are also expecting a flood-in of suspects who had been kept in police custody during the strike.
