The Story of a Refugee Teacher

Following the south Sudanese war in 2014, over one million refugees have fled to Uganda, majority of whom are women and children. This has had an impact on the social services especially education, where inadequate teachers, classrooms and other essential requirements have been heavily impacted. We talked to one Halima Mustafa, a refugee who has since volunteered as teacher to help children get some basic education, overcome trauma and ease the burden of teacher shortage.
