COSASE Tasks Bank of Uganda on External Lawyers for Crane Bank Saga

The Parliamentary Committee on Statutory Authority and State Enterprises (COSASE) has given the Central Bank 48 hours to produce expenditures on external lawyers since 2013 especially those participating in the contentious liquidation of Crane Bank. The Bugweri County MP Abdul-Katuntu chaired committee questioned the amount of money the Central Bank was spending on external lawyers, yet it has nine internal lawyers who have never represented the bank before courts of law.
