Prices of beef have spike up ahead of Christmas due to the high demand. The price of beef, which was days ago, pegged at 10,000 shillings a kilo, shot up by 5000 shilling to 15,000 shillings a kilo. Butcher men attribute the rise is due to the quarantine in some districts.
