Winnie Mandela Awarded For Defiance During Makerere University Graduation

Makerere university has awarded the ex- south African first lady Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, an Honorary Doctor of Laws recognising her contribution towards the overthrow of the south African apartheid regime. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the government of south Africa hailed the award saying it will continue to strengthen the relationship between Uganda and south Africa that started way back.The award came on the final day of the graduation week of Makerere university.
