Mubuku irrigation scheme becomes yet another government facility to targeted by land grabbers, and this has affected the effectiveness of the once model project in east and central Africa. Land grabbers have taken over 2000 acres of land from the 6000 the project used to own, threatening any government official that tries to stop the illegal acquisition. This was established by the land probe that is currently pitched in Kasese to investigate the mass land issues in the region.
