Seven-year Presidential Term Extension Hangs in Balance

The hopes of Ugandans participating in the anticipated referendum on the presidential term extension hang in the balance after parliament passed the budget framework paper for the 2018/2019 financial year with no funds allocated for the referendum. Chairman of the Legal and Parliamentary affairs committee Jacob Oboth Oboth says parliament could not consider this line item in the budget since government did not communicate to the Electoral body in time.
