UCC and Telecoms are the Problem – Consumer Body

The Uganda consumer Protection association says banning the selling of airtime and simcards on the streets is not a solution to curbing crime. Sam Watasa the Consumer body’s executive Director says this does not pose any security threat, arguing that telecoms and the Uganda Communications commission have capacity to track any criminal is they so wish. He warns that the move will only kill peoples businesses.
