Six ex- service men and dozens of descendants of their comrades who have passed on have dragged government to the land inquiry commission accusing it of allegedly grabbing land that was given to them by Britain as a handshake for world war I and II victory. The angry ex-servicemen claim they temporarily left the land in question due tsetse flies in the 1940’s but on their returned in the 90’s, government had gazetted it as a forest reserve. The former CDF Gen. Katumba Wamalla who was called in to verify the claims later admitted that the concerns were genuine.
