Omukama of Tooro Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Commemorated Nelson Mandela Day

The Omukama of Tooro Oyo Nyimba kabamba Iguru joined the world in commemorating the Nelson Mandela International day. This year’s celebration which were globally dedicated towards fighting poverty and promotion of social justice for all, were held at Serena, Kigo. Gazzetted by the United Nations in 2009, to coincide with his Birthday on the world spends some time July 18th, in celebration what has come to be known as Nelson Mandela international Day. Mandela is celebrated for his role in conflict resolution ,human rights , peace and reconciliation for the 67 years he spent in public service- part of which – 27 where spent in prison. In Uganda the celebrations were led by omukama of Tooro Oyo Nyimba kabamba Iguru IV who planted a symbolic Mvule tree to resonate with the legacy of the World Peace icon.
