Uganda Revenue Authority has attributed its failure to hit last financial year’s revenue collection target of 15 trillion to tax policy reversals that happened in the course of the financial year. Doris Akol, the URA Commissioner General says the reversal on 10% import duty on imported crude palm oil and a reduction in the taxes collected on imported rice were a serious setback to the authority’s revenue collection efforts. Akol was speaking at the announcement of the upcoming URA Tax Payer’s Appreciation Week scheduled for later this month at Kololo Independence Grounds.
