Fighting Power Theft

As Umeme continues to fight cases of illegal power connection, local leaders in some of the highly affected urban areas have blamed the power distributor for lack of adequate information regarding power access. In a meeting between Umeme and local leaders, issues of identification of rightful Umeme personel, high power connection charges and high power tariffs topped the agenda as local leaders sought clear answers to these issues.
