Residents of Laminato village in Nwoya district are accusing gov’t of illegally taking their 6,000 acres of land under the guise of a state farm. The locals say the land in question was a collection of small farms that was given by the then Amin Gov’t to support local farmers but not to be owned by the state. Early last week, Lands minister Betty Amogin together with directors of Fol logistics (foreign investor company) visited the farm to initiate the survey of the 6,000 acres, a move that is worrying the locals.
