Poor performance in the O’ Level exams of 2018 has forced the traditionally renowned schools to lower their cut off points. It was in agreement that the performance in 2018 was lower than in 2017 forcing schools to adjust their intake protocols.
Notable cutoffs included Gayaza High school-15, Kings College Budo -14 for girls 11 for boys, Trinity College Nabbingo -17, Nabisunsa Girls Secondary School-16, Mengo Seconary chool-19 for boys and 22 for girls.
The cut off points were discussed during the opening of the teachers’ registration policy presided over by the permanent secretary of the ministry of education, Alex Kakooza, which aims to eliminate teachers who did not go through the proper channels to enter the profession. The registration is mandatory for both public and private schools.
