Police has launched a human rights policy with the aim of guiding them as they are executing their duties.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Martin Okoth Ochola launched the initiative yesterday where he admitted that there is need for improvement in how they conduct themselves. He further stated that their existing policy will be reviewed where demand dictates as the rules are not cast in stone.
The policy comes in the wake of much criticism on the police and how they conduct themselves with accusations of brutality and torture of citizens, press and most notably MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine last year.
IGP Martin Okoth Ochola added that some improvements have been made in he area but there still some more room for improvement.
