UgX900M Needed For Martyrs Day

UgX900 has been requested to prepare for this year’s Uganda Martyrs celebrations. An amount that has raised eyebrows considering its a 1 day event. The money is said to be for the renovations of the shrines and the general environment.

Catholics and Anglicans from all over the country will be making their way to Namugongo to celebrate the lives of over 40 believers who lost their lives between 1885 and 1887 on the orders of Kabaka Mwanga for their faith.

The Gulu Arch Diocese is organizing this year’s celebration at Namugongo led by the Archbishop John Baptist Odama of Gulu, the last time they had organized the celebrations.
