Simon Peter Kinobe the head of the Uganda law Society spoke with NBS to discuss the cases of the 9 lawyers who were recently suspended over misconduct due to cases filed against them by clients.
According to Simon Peter Kinobe the lawyers in mention will not be allowed to practice law for a period of 2 years. Some cases in particular were suspended due to their absences when summoned for their cases in-front of the disciplinary committee despite reminders. These include Nsubuga Kenneth and Mulindwa Allan.
Further speaking on the case, Simon Peter expressed concern as according to him there is a rise in cases for professional misconduct with the law council handling over 1000 cases.
