The General Court Martial has sentenced former Boda Boda 2010 patron Abdallah Kitatta to 8 years, 8 months and 6 days in prison.

Abdallah Kitatta’s bodyguard Sowali Ngobi, gets the same sentence. They were arrested at the start of 2018 by Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI), for unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.

The General Court Martial chaired by Lt. Gen. Andrew Gutti ruled that crimes committed by people holding fire arms illegally are rampant and sentenced each of them to the maximum sentence of 10 years imprisonment.

Kitatta and Ngobi will however serve 8 years and 8 months because they had already spent more than a year in jail.
