Human Trafficking Taking Young Job Seekers

The search for jobs as compared to the limited opportunities in the country has led some young people look to outside the country for greener pastures. Unfortunately some job companies are a front for human trafficking as some Ugandans mostly female are taken abroad and are mistreated.

For as little as Ugx 5 Million, Ugandans are bought and sold like common livestock and then shipped elsewhere.

The Ugandan girls are trafficked by way of Nairobi where they are trained in manual labour and then taken to the middle East with Oman coming up as an infamous location for such cases. Women have been reported to be raped, beaten and overworked, barely recognized as human.
