Local leaders of Kiryadongo have expressed their concern over the increasing population of refugees in the district with arrivals from Congo and South Sudan.

The diverse share of land between private and government ranches, forests and national parks has left the locals and refugees to survive on limited resources.

“People are stranded but they look at local leaders to save them, but even as local leaders our hands are tied”, said the District Chairperson Charles Ntairahoki Amooti.
