UTB Turns To Hollywood


Hollywood power broker Koshie Mills was recently in the country to form a partnership with Uganda Tourism board  on their “Back to the Source” tour initiative that is aimed at promoting local tourism to the rest of the world.

According to Claire Mugabi, the Marketing Manager for UTB, the partnership will help meet Uganda meet the target of 4 million tourists by 2020. She further stated they want to receive more black Americans for tourism purposes, enjoyments and possibly invest in the country.

According to Uganda Bureau of Statistics, Uganda received 1.8 million tourists in 2018, 1.4 million in 2017 and with the numbers gotten in 2017 about 1.4 billion dollars came into the country. UTB is convinced that celebrities could play an important role in promoting Uganda as a preferred tourist destination and is looking to partner with more.
