The Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Judith Nabakooba has directed the National Information Technology Authority (NITA) to provide all Police stations and courts across the country with internet services. According to Nabakooba, this will reduce the workload of physical filing and also ease the work of Police.

Nabakooba spent most of her day in Jinja on a working tour of National Information Technology Uganda visiting the data centres in Jinja where her first visit was to the data center at Nalufenya Police Station and National Data Center in Jinja town.

“We can simply check and know these are the cases going on, this is how far we are moving, we would be more than happy,” said Nabakooba.

State Minister for ICT said that government plans to take internet services up to sub-county level. He added that the government also plans to lower the cost of the internet claiming that it is the biggest of the plans.
