Police To Recruit More Women

Uganda Police have concluded a review of the police standing orders that have been so unfavourable to female Police officers. This aims at empowering women in a wake to recruit more women in the force to make the 30% as required by the law from the current 18%.

“We sat and all got involved in the review of the orders, we carried out workshops and seminars at the district level and regional level while involving other stakeholders like UN Women, UHRC and parliament in order to make sure they make a contribution”, said Chief Political Commissar AIGP Asan Kasingye.

Asan Kaisngye tasked the recruitment team to bring more women during the next recruitment process stating that if that is not done, the team will be sent back.
