Erias Lukwago Questions National Task Force Distribution Mechanisms

The Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has called out President Museveni saying that the President is using the COVID-19 pandemic as a launchpad for something new.

While speaking on the NBS Morning Breeze show today, Lukwago said he is afraid that in the post coronavirus period, a new social-political order will emerge that is draconian in nature.

Erias Lukwago, commenting on the distribution of food asked why the Task Force has decided to distribute to Kampala and Wakiso. He questioned the mechanisms that they are using to distribute the food stating that according to the official figures from the National Task Force, those who have received are less than 15%.

The Lord Mayor added that contributing to the National Task Force has become a fashion and showbiz after a number of companies, organisations and individuals have so far made contributions.

“I am about to be asked why I have not yet contributed. I am not looking at the process, I want to see the outcome. I have not seen a single item being distributed,” said Lukwago.
