A group of non-nationals residing in Kisenyi has been reported to be struggling to make ends meet after being identified as part of the group not able to receive the relief food aid from the government.

With trucks full of relief food parked in their communities, LDU officers offload and ferry the food to the different households as this group simply looks on with frustration on their faces.

UPDF spokesperson of the land forces Lt. Col. Henry Obbo said that they were following strict guidelines as provided by the government.

“People whom we have got within the slums and they have refugee status, I think they are in a wrong place, they should be able to move to a position which is gazetted for them so that they are capable of receiving assistance there,” said Henry Obbo.

Obbo said that the refugees’ relief food is different from the one that was being distributed. He added that they actually have more entitlement there and advised that hiding within the slums will not assist them.
