We need To Have Elections-Venansius Baryamureeba

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Uganda Technology and Management University (UTAMU), Professor Venansius Baryamureeba, has commended the President for how well he has handled some issues during the COVID-19 pandemic. He, however, says that places of worship should be reopened because they provide an essential service.

“I consider places of worship essential places. The way they were created, one can social distance. I am shocked that we are not reopening them yet busses are allowed to operate at half capacity,”  said Baryamureeba.

While speaking on the NBS Morning Breeze TV show, Baryamureeba said that Uganda needs to have elections stating that people should use the available avenues to campaign even if it is done online.

“We need to rethink the fate of politics in the new normal. Even if we postpone the elections, shall we get different results?” asked Baryamureeba.
