Public universities lecturers have threatened industrial action ahead of schools reopening. Dr Deus Kamunyu Muhwezi, the Chairperson Makerere University Academic Staff Association (MUASA) while appearing on Morning Breeze this morning said that they will convene on Thursday to conclude on their course of action after failed attempts to engage the Ministry of Education and Sports.

Dr Deus Muhwezi expressed disgust that the lecturers meet the president and they agree on issues but die at the implementation stage.
” When we come out, we are disturbed. No one should call us uncordial. I don’t want to say we meet conmen. We take our meetings with the president seriously. We can’t begin to say we go for a soothing and a cup of tea,” Dr Deus Muhwezi.

Dr Muhwezi said it is untrue that the lecturers have a high sense of entitlement because they only ask for what they deserve.
