17,000 at Elegu Border Struggle for Health Care

With a population of 17, 000 people at the Uganda – South Sudan border of Elegu in Amuru district the health care system is struggling to manage the impact of COVID-19. An area known as a hot spot for COVID-19, the district does not have a hospital and several villages do not even have Health center II’s pushing the population to the only Health center IV in Atiak.
