IMF Projects 4% Growth for Uganda’s Economy in 2021

The International Monetary Fund has spoken out on the 1 billion US dollar loan recently disbursed to Uganda from the extended credit facility to address the COVID-19 shocks. Karpowicz Izabella, the IMF country representative, says even with poor accountability, failure to give Uganda loans would result in borrowing at higher interest rates or cutting down expenditure, which in turn would undermine economic growth.
