Nursing is the largest occupational group in the health sector, accounting for approximately 59 percent of the health professions. This is according to the 2020 State of the World’s Nursing report by the World Health Organization. Despite their numbers, nurses work in conditions that are far from ideal, seldom getting credit for the vital job they do.
