TAASA OBUTONDE: Vivo Energy Launches Plastic Waste Collection Innitiative

Vivo Energy has launched a new Plastic Waste Collection initiative to support recycling as a means to ensure that communities mitigate the impact of plastic pollution on the environment.
Gracing the event, Beatrice Anywar, the State Minister for Environment applauded the Taasa Obutonde innintiative and encouraged it to be launched in other parts of the country.
Anywar urged all Ugandans to join the good cause and not to be ashamed of protecting the environment. She said President Museveni is soon launching a full war on environment degradation and called on everybody to put on their combats. Anywar urged Ugandans to shun using plastics saying, cutting demand is the only way out of this.
Vivo Energy has said all the stations will have plastic waste collection points where people can dump the plastic wastes and encouraged all companies to follow suit.
Taasa Obutonde Campaign started five months ago to encourage Ugandans to reuse plastics, reduce usage of plastics and recycle plastics.
