Opposition Call of Parliament Boycott

The shadow cabinet have sat this Tuesday morning to decide on the way forward following the boycott of Parliamentary sittings by opposition legislators over the re-arrest of their colleagues Allan Ssewanyana of Makindye West and Muhammad Ssegirinya of Kawempe North.

This followed an outcry by a section of NRM Legislators  who asked their Opposition counterparts to reconsider their decision of boycotting the Parliamentary sittings and return to the House in fulfillment of their representation role.

The Opposition members have agreed to return to the house citing that some of their terms have been met by government including MPs Ssegirinya and Ssewanyana being held in gazetted prisons.
