Uganda Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga has cautioned the public to remain vigilant as we usher in the new year saying due to the increased risks of terror and COVID-19, the public is expected to remain at home, no fireworks and no overnight prayers. The public is also cautioned against burning tyres and trees.

“Fireworks are cancelled for the second year running due to the uncertainty caused by #COVID19.

We urge the public to adopt small celebrations and other alternatives of ushering in the new year at home.

All prayers to usher in the new year in Churches have also been cancelled.

Burning tyres and trees on the road is prohibited. The new year comes at midnight during curfew time,”Fred Enanga.
