Social Media has been awash with jokes about pregnant girls as schools reopen as the government directed that they should be allowed back in the classrooms.

Agnes Igoye, Uganda’s Deputy National Coordinator, Prevention of Trafficking in Persons has said this should stop because we have failed the children.

“As our children return to school, many are pregnant. It is unfortunate that big women and men are using social media to laugh at our children. We have failed them, and we are mocking them. We are calling them sinners. It is us who are sinners. It is not funny to keep forwarding on social media. We are coming for you, “Agnes Igoye.

Igoye has said the girls must not go through any form of bullying both at home and school.
