Gen Katumba Issues Guideline on Transporting Children to School

The Minister of Works and Transport General Katumba Wamala has guided on travels as children return to school.

Wamala urged parents to ensure they board at designated points to avoid being duped.

General Wamala revealed that curfew will be lifted as children go to school from 10th January to allow parents to drop the children and return home safely.

Wamala revealed that they met the people dealing in transportation and agreed to significantly reduce transport fares that will be communicated.
On those buying fake vaccination cards at Nasser Road, the General said it is their loss and that this will cost their lives. He encouraged everyone to get vaccinated and acquire that right card.

Wamala warned that transport operators who are not vaccinated will be discontinued from work as police officers will be checking all the time, he encouraged passengers to follow SOPs and wear their masks at all times.

Schools have opened today, 10th January 2022 in a phased manner.
