The Kampala City Resident District Commissioner Hudu Hussein has issued a notice that vendors should vacate the streets by Sunday in a move to dicongest the city and make it more organised.

Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago said Hudu has no mandate to chase the vendors off the streets and urged him to stay in his lane.

Vendors on the other hand say they are not going anywhere without the government showing them where to go. The government earmarked Usafi Market for the vendors but they say it is pron to fire accidents since it is made of wood and that customers do not go to the market since it is isolated.
