Government to Discuss Increase in Prices of Commodities

Government Chief Whip Thomas Tayebwa revealed during the Frontline Show on Thursday that the cabinet will sit to forge a way forward as the commodities prices continue to skyrocket sending many citizens into panic.

This is (commodity prices) a global issue. The factors are beyond us. All this started with #COVID19. The economy opened at once, demand is high, and then Russia, which produces raw materials, goes into a crisis.

We are lucky that we produce food locally. As a government we shouldn’t panic, we should look at alternatives, interventions that will help, in the next cabinet sitting, we are looking at interventions and next week we shall update the nation,” Tayebwa.
