Opposition Responds to Censure of Zaake

MP Francis Zaake was censured by Parliament yesterday for using social media to insult the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Anita Among. One hundred fifty-five voted in favor, four against, and two invalids. The Deputy Speaker said he would be required to apologize to the House within one week.

“We ask the Opposition to give us another name,” said Among

The Leader of Opposition, in a presser Friday Morning, branded the censure mob justice as illegal and vowed the opposition would stand with Zaake.

“Our member shall be supported all through. He has a right to seek alternative justice. As opposition, we are duty-bound to our member. We shall be by his side as he seeks justice,” said Mpuuga
