Thomas Tayebwa Elected Deputy Speaker

Thomas Tayebwa legislator for Ruhinda North county, Mitooma district has been declared duly elected deputy speaker for the 11th parliament garnering 379.

Former Government Chief Whip has pledged to work with Speaker Anita Among for Unity. He eulogised Jacob Oulanyah and sympathised with the family.

I personally wouldn’t have loved to occupy this position in such circumstances, but Rt. Hon. Oulanyah that I know would challenge me to rise to the occasion. I would like to offer my condolences to the family – Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa

Tayebwa apologised to the Northern MPs who he had a bitter exchange with prior to the race.
