Police Deploys to Counter Planned Strike

Uganda Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga in a presser  this Monday morning has said contrary to the fears, there has been calm across the country including the Kampala Metropolitan area following warnings of mass protests over high commodity prices.

Police has deployed heavily in and around Kampala Metropolitan following the threats from strike mongers mobilizing people to stay home or come out and demonstrate.

We want to thank those who have been able to come out of their homes and go to work. We assure Ugandans that their protection and security are guaranteed, and since morning, we have not registered any attacks against those who have gone to work,” Fred Enanga said.

Enanga took time to warn those mobilising the strike calling them ‘fear mongers’
