Striking Arts Teachers Agree to Teach

President Museveni has told striking teachers that there is no money and urged them to return to the classroom, in a meeting with the Uganda National Teachers Union representatives at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds. The president cautioned the arts teachers to stop disrupting the government strategy of prioritising sciences.

We have a strategy and no one should disrupt us. We are aware of the issues and we are committed to handling them. Therefore, my advice to the teachers is that they should go back and teach,” President Museveni.

Teachers have agreed to return to class and continue with negotiations while in class.
