State Minister for Tourism and Antiquities, Col. Tom Butime, has noted that there is a need for more concentrated efforts to conserve Uganda’s biodiversity.

He stated that this has to be given much concern and priority if the country is to remain a top eco-tourism destination.

Col. Butime insists that wildlife is critical not only for tourism but for ecological support and improvement of social services if well taken care of.

He made these remarks during the inauguration of the new Governing Council at the Uganda Wildlife Research and Training Institute in Kasese.
