7 Journalists Arrested on Press Freedom Day

Government has cautioned media against imbalanced stories which it attributes to growing misinformation among the public especially on numerous government programmes.
The minister of information Frank Tumwebaze says that some journalists have taken political position at the expense of public information. The minister made the call as journalists commemorated world press freedom day here in Kampala which saw some ending of them ending up behind bars.
Meanwhile, a group of journalists who tried to hold parallel celebrations had scuffles with police and 7 were arrested.
