Uganda Airlines is to focus on developing customer retention systems, growing cargo operations, and seeking strategic partnerships in the year 2022. This was revealed by Jenifer Bamutaraki the Acting CEO of Uganda Airlines as she released the company’s half year performance.

The national career, Uganda Airlines realized a 64 % revenue boost for the period between July and Dec 2021. Much as the global Aviation sector has largely suffered due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic; for the newly revived airline, the passenger numbers between the same period rose to 98,760 with 84,397 passengers carried by the Bombardier CRJ 900 fleet as compared to the 14,363 by the Airbus A330 neo. Plans to reduce the on direct costs that cut down on profits are also being laid out by the top management.

At a cost of 2.5 million dollars, the airline is hopeful to secure a hanger as the process for developing capacity similar to the outsourced Netherlands and South African Authorized Maintenance Operators are in advanced stages” say Bamuturaki.

As the regional routes like Mogadishu, Bujumbura and Juba bring in returns, the focus will now be on developing customer retention systems, growing cargo operations, and seeking strategic partnerships in the year 2022.
