Judiciary Sidelined – Chief Justice
The chief justice has demanded for holistic support from government to address the judiciary’s grievances.
This is after a report highlighting the state of the judiciary in Uganda indicated that many of the judiciary’s problems are not an illustration of a weak organ but an abandoned institution.
The chief justice says that just like other government arms are facilitated, the same should be for the judiciary. He highlighted challenges such as under funding and limited judicial officers among the signs that the judiciary is not receiving the required support to drive the enhancement of justice and rule of law in the country.
