Government Urged to Focus on Agriculture and Tourism


The National Planning Authority says Ugandan will only realize the desired middle income status by 2020, only if people’s per capita income increases. NPA Executive Director Dr. Joseph Muvawala says transition from low to middle income calls for industrialization and urbanization yet majority Ugandans remain in rural areas with access to resources still a challenge. World Bank senior economists Rachael Ssebude advises government to shift focus to Agriculture and tourism instead of infrastructural developments that are marred with corruption and endless compensations.
